LIVING INTO YOUR ORGANIZATION’S BEST FUTURE

1. CREATING MOTIVATION AND FOCUS

We establish Mission, Vision and Values statements in organizations – in part – to help engage, motivate and focus on employees. Social researcher Dan Pink’s seminal book Drive unpacks how this motivation happens using different language – Purpose, Autonomy and Mastery.

2. AVOID THE MISTAKES OF VALUES-BASED ORGANIZATIONS

Be clear. Be practical. Focus on impact. Learn and grow. The Culture University blog maps out four critical ways that values-based organizations ensure what they preach is what they practice. Read on.

3. TALK WITH YOUR TEAM ABOUT WHAT MATTERS MOST

What makes your organization great? With your team, have each person write down 3 ideas about what makes your organization great, one idea per post-it note. Everyone stick all their post-it notes on the wall. Work together to group similar post-it notes into categories — like goes with like! It’s okay if you have outliers. After you finish sorting into categories, talk about what themes stand out the most, and why you think those themes are important.

WE HAVE THE EVENT TO HELP CHANGE YOUR GAME

WHEN_ NOVMBER 8, 2019 __ 9 AM TO 12 PM WHERE_ THE HIGHPOINT.png

Our culture enthusiasts, Serena Fulton and Kathy Greenier, will help you better understand, assess and change aspects of your organization’s culture. We designed this session for a select group of organizational leaders (read: people like you). Space is limited!

Every organization has a culture whether it is intentionally cultivated or not. Culture can be an organization’s biggest pain point or an effective strategy for reaching business outcomes. But what is organizational culture? How do you assess the effects of your own culture? And how might you begin to change it?

In this session, explore the connection between your own organizational purpose, culture, and results – and how to ensure a healthy organizational culture is a lived experience for employees, and not just a theory or concept. Culture challenges can't be solved in a day, but you will leave this session with a tangible first step towards supporting the culture you desire for your organization.

First, participants will get grounded in an understanding of what organizational culture means and each individual will assess their unique organizational needs.  Then, we’ll explore culture change strategies and conditions for sustainable and effective change. This session will be a mix of theory and application. Come prepared to learn, engage, and share.
